Architecture of Patient Health Records based on Blockchain Supported by Mathematical Model and Real Prototype

Mafawez T. Alharbi.

Abstract
Patients share their crucial health-related information when visiting a health center for the first time. While searching for suitable treatment, patients often move from one health center to another, and, in this process, the patients need to continuously give their health-related information. The repetitive process of information sharing leads to unnecessary time consumption for the patients and healthcare staff. For this reason, researchers identified the Personal Health Record (PHR), providing patients with continuous access to their health data -- anytime, anywhere, and with many other advantages. Blockchain is a new technology that relies on building an encrypted technical system that allows each participant in the network to join without previous knowledge and trust. It can solve many issues, including those in the healthcare sector. This paper proposes a Smart Architecture of Patient Health Records (SAPHR) based on blockchain technology. The current work intends to contribute to the existing body of knowledge by suggesting a mathematical model for the proposed system and developing a prototype

Key words: Architecture; patient health records; blockchain ; mathematical model; prototype.
