Dr. Ibrahim M. Alarifi, Editor-in-Chief

We welcome you to the Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (JE&AS) at Majmaah University. As the editorial team, we are committed to fostering a platform for exchanging innovative ideas and cutting-edge research in the diverse engineering and applied sciences fields. JE&AS is dedicated to publishing high-quality, peer-reviewed articles that advance knowledge in engineering and its applications. We aim to provide a valuable resource for researchers, academicians, and practitioners, fostering a collaborative environment that transcends disciplinary boundaries.

Navigating the landscape of scientific publishing poses numerous challenges for authors. The proliferation of scientific journals, each with its unique scope, review criteria, and publication costs, places authors in the daunting position of deciding where to submit their work. This decision-making process is a pivotal aspect of every author's journey and often involves grappling with various factors.

The dissemination of scientific findings holds significant importance in the lives of researchers. Over time, scientific publishing has transformed into an efficient system that disseminates knowledge and nurtures collaboration among scientists. Science journals have implemented institutionalized procedures to cope with the increasing volume of article submissions. Many journals have strategically defined narrower scopes, serving the dual purpose of managing submissions effectively and promoting outstanding research. With great pride, the editorial board inaugurates the Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (JE&AS), a new addition to the scientific journals affiliated with Majmaah University. The board is dedicated to ensuring the satisfaction of JE&AS authors and readers by introducing dynamic and vibrant journal management. Our commitment is rooted in the belief that fostering a supportive environment is essential for advancing scientific discourse and collaboration.

In summary, as the scientific community faces the complexities of modern publishing, JE&AS endeavors to provide a platform that meets the evolving needs of authors and contributes to the collective advancement of engineering and applied sciences knowledge.

Editor-in-Chief

Introduction

Scientific research is considered one of the basic pillars of any excellent education at university. Also, scientific research is one of the most important criteria adopted by the scientific parties in classifying and arranging universities on all scales, local, national, or global. To enable the University of Majmaah to achieve excellence in education, the university has paid much attention since the first day of its inception to developing and activating the mechanisms of scientific research, including the establishment of scientific journals at the university, where each College can participate according to the specialty of each one. We are not exaggerating when we say that engineering sciences are leading global progress towards promising prospects. Hence, the Deanship of Engineering College has given the Journal of Engineering Sciences the greatest attention and urged faculty members to actively participate in its creation at the highest scientific and regulatory requirements levels.

It is selected from the distinctive competencies in different journal publishing areas within and outside the Kingdom. The nomination is based on reviewing the CVs of the applicants for vacancies at the Advisory Board, according to the university's announcement.

Areas of Publishing

It is recommended to sign an agreement with the International Publishing Centers, which are specialized in the fields of Engineering and Applied Sciences, to carry on the publishing process, not forgetting to set the conditions and regulations for this mechanism; thus, this will solve a lot of problems and obstacles and give the journal the scientific incentive, seriousness, and importance from the early stages in its inception. In addition, I entered the classifications and the international databases as well. Hence, identifying the areas of publishing relates to each version itself, where special conditions are set for each version, and this means highlighting the area of concentration in the version to avoid distraction and generalization.

" Journal of Engineering and Applied Science " is a periodic scientific journal concerned with disseminating research in Engineering and Applied Sciences and related research. However, the research must be submitted for a new publication and has not been published or accepted for publication by a journal or any other publication party. The authors should acknowledge that by handwriting. Also, the rights to publish the research are transmitted to the journal after acceptance. The areas of publications are as follows:

1.    Electrical Engineering

2.    Civil Engineering

3.    Mechanical Engineering

4.    Applied Sciences

5.    Engineering and Computer Sciences and Networks

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is the unethical act of copying other researchers’ prior ideas, processes, results, or words without explicitly acknowledging the original author and source. Self-plagiarism occurs when an author utilizes a large part of his/her own previously published work without using appropriate references. This can range from getting the same manuscript published in multiple journals to modifying a previously published manuscript with some new data.

1.    All manuscripts submitted for publication to our journal are cross-checked for plagiarism using plagiarism-checking software. Manuscripts found plagiarized during the initial stages of review are rejected and not considered for publication in the journal.

2.    If a manuscript is found to be plagiarized after publication, the Editor-in-Chief will conduct a preliminary investigation, maybe with the help of a suitable committee constituted for the purpose, and suitable action will be initiated based on the committee's recommendations.

3.    If the manuscript is found to be plagiarized beyond the acceptable limits, the journal will contact the author’s Institute / College / University and Funding Agency, if any.

Protection of Research Participants (Statement on Human and Animal Rights)

Statement of Human and Animal Rights in Research Involving Live Subjects

Suppose the scientific project involves human subjects or experimental animals. In that case, authors must state in the manuscript that the protocol has been approved by the institution's Ethics Committee within which the research work was undertaken.

Research Involving Humans

Any manuscript describing a study that used human subjects must include a statement that affirms the experiments were performed with prior informed consent (written or verbal, as appropriate) from each participant.

All personal information must be anonymized before publication unless a record of explicit consent from the involved patient(s) has been provided.

Research Involving Animals

Any manuscript describing a study that used animal subjects must include a statement that affirms all appropriate measures were taken to minimize pain or discomfort. Details of the animals’ care should be provided.

Experimental research on vertebrates or any regulated invertebrates must comply with institutional, national, or international guidelines and, where available, should have been approved by an appropriate ethics committee. A statement detailing compliance with guidelines and ethical approval must be included in the manuscript.
